ANISAP - National Association of Private Outpatient Facilities
A.N.I.S.A.P. is the Italian National Association of Private Ambulatory Health Institutions. It is present all over Italy with more than 1.300 private health structures – with 26.000 employees – that work in clinical analysis laboratories, imaging diagnostic surgeries, rehabilitation centres and specialist clinics that supply healthcare services under accreditation from the National Health System. The members appoint a National Committee which represents all the members e.g. in the negotiation of the accreditation framework with the National Ministry of Health. The National Committee promotes professional development and specialist training for its member’s staffs. This include consulting and workshops on a number of subjects such as laboratory diagnostics, image diagnostics, rehabilitation, chiropractic etc. As part of this activity specific proposals relating to the particular exigencies of specialist branches are identified and discussed and eventually adopted.
Thanks to the widespread distribution of its members, A.N.I.S.A.P. can guarantee a good presence in all the corners of the peninsula and provides a sizeable contribution to the overall offer of diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation services to citizens. This is particularly appreciated by citizens as an alternative to the public health system which is of good quality in Italy but is penalised by limited accessibility because of the cumbersome administrative procedure involved and by long waiting lists to access secondary care services.
A.N.I.S.A.P., which does not count hospitals among its members, is of course active in promoting outpatient care as a valuable alternatives to hospitalisation every time the patient’s condition and the type of treatment make it possible.
